About KVK
Krishi Vigyan Kendra is an institutional project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to demonstrate technology generation, technology assessment and refinement and dissemination in the field of agriculture and allied sectors. The KVK has been charged now to take up the responsibilities of technology evaluation and impact assessment, demonstration of technology on the farmer’s field and update of the knowledge and skill for the farmers.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra Narmada is sanctioned in 2006-07 and located at Dediapada, 45 km away from District place Rajpipla. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Narmada involved in transfer of technology through training, FLDs, OFTs and other extension activities with a mission of making farmers to live graceful life and aimed with providing technologies to door step of farmers in a missionary mode.
Services provided by KVK
Organize on campus and off campus training for the farmers and farm women for generating awareness and enhancing of their agricultural knowledge.
Organize front line demonstration on various crops to generate production data and feedback information.
Conducting on farm Testing for identifying technologies in terms of location specific sustainable land use system.
Organize short and long term vocational training for the farmers and farm women for higher production on farm and generating self employment.
Diagnosis of diseases and pest of crops by scientist.
Selling seedling of various vegetable crops and vermi compost.
Analysis of soil and water sample at KVK laboratory.
Updating knowledge of farmers by sending Agro SMS to the farmers with the help of e_connectivity center.
Telephonic helpline available for the farmers.
Organize training to update the extension personnel and emerging advances in agricultural research on regular basis.
Increase productivity of major crops e.g. Paddy, Cotton, Sorghum, sugarcane.
Dissemination of production technology of fruits and vegetables and their post harvest management as well promotion of precision farming.
Management of natural resource, including salinity management.
Popularizing of location specific farming system.
Popularize eco-friendly crop production with special reference to IPDM & INM.
Increasing milk production by dissemination of latest technologies.
Imparting skill oriented training to the tribal women for sustaining their livelihood.
Promotion of small scale farm mechanization in tribal area.
Apart from above mentioned activities, for generating awareness and enhancing knowledge of the farmers many activities are carried out such as Krishi Mela, Khedut Shibir, Interaction of Farmers & Scientist, Kishan Goshthi, Agro Exhibition, Technology Week Celebration, Celebration of important Day and regular supply of agro information to press and media.
